One summer day, while taking a break from fulfilling a large EDGES AND LINES order, I sat on the terrace, gazing at my flowering garden. I was a bit tired from drawing hundreds of parallel lines and felt an unexpected urge to sketch some flowers. This is how the SWEDISH SUMMER cups and bowls came to life.
Their naive and childish look on one hand, and clear structure on the other, reminded me of of Stig Lindberg’s drawings. In honor of his influence, the word ‘Swedish’ is added into the series’ name. Items in this collection vary in shape, size, and decoration, yet they are unified by the colors and decorative style. This, in my opinion, enhances the collection’s spontaneity, lightness, and summery charm.
